R.I.P. Loki
Today we had to put down our beloved Loki because sadly he suddenly got worse. He only had 10% kidney function for awhile now. Talk about the suckiest Christmas ever.

Christmas Presents
We just wanted to let the family know that we’re not scrooges, and you will get your presents either via delivery from those are coming out here or by mail. The mailers though probably won’t get it until after Christmas sadly because well…WE haven’t received your presents yet so we can’t send out to you what we ourselves haven’t gotten. Just wanted to let you all know.

Zoo lights 2009
We went to zoo lights last night (brr). Was in the mid 40’s by the time we left around 8. Keira enjoyed seeing all the lights that looked like animals even though it was late for her.

Our little weirdo
Keira today decided it would be fun to spin in circles over and over again multiple times by herself. What a weirdo but hey I’ve got no problems with it as long as she doesn’t hurt herself from it. I’ll try to film it when she does it again, it’s kind of hilarious.
Family update
OK we just got back from San Diego for Thanksgiving and yes we have pictures. I just haven’t uploaded them because I have a new monitor now which doesn’t have usb ports on its side and I have no extra slots on my computer. I.E. Mike needs to do it or I need more ports. I vote more ports. Anyways we had fun and Keira loved eating at the big table with all the big people food. The weather though was raining for a lot of it and with Keira’s common bad mood from teething we decided to bail out on Sunday rather then stay till Monday.
Baby news:
Went to my doctor today for my next regular appointment which had this ‘fun’ thing for me to do plus an ultrasound they unexpectedly threw at me the day before. I.E. I got to do my Glucose test, which is mandatory for all expectant moms and if you haven’t done one it requires you to drink a dreadfully sweet fruit punch like drink and then not be able to have anything to wash it down with for an hour until they draw blood. It’s even too sweet for me and that’s saying something. I can tolerate it if I drink it over like three to five minutes but I’d probably puke if I tried to just down it in one go. Anyways I did that and got my ultrasound done while I burned my hour of waiting. Which apparently almost cost me having to do the damn glucose test again because I had three minutes left out of the 15 minute grace period to get my blood drawn. Why they didn’t just come and get me I don’t know but I would’ve been pissed if I had to come back to do it just because of them messing up scheduling. Anyways, my doctor came in at the end and demanded info from the tech. The tech you see reports to someone else first and that someone made her wait a month for the last results which they just told me about yesterday.
According to Dr. Hunt our baby boy is still in the normal range for his ultrasound results but he’s on the very bottom of it. He ranked 12 percentile this scan and below 10 they start getting uncomfortable. He was 8th last time I might add so at least he’s growing which is what she said she wants/needs to see. Because of all this though she’s decided I have to report to the Osborn’s birthing center (where I’ll have him and had Keira) for twice a week baby monitoring unless of course I have an ultrasound that week then I don’t have to go. Lucky for us I guess that she booked one for Christmas week. This of course will be a pain for us both, me because its freaking 35 miles one way to get to and Mike because guess who he gets while I’m there for 45 minutes of testing plus drive time, yep, Keira. I could technically bring her but I have to lay still and yeah can you see Keira quietly sitting on my lap or something like that. Not quite…but it’s a nice delusion.
Along with all this I also got informed that he’s still obsessing about his beloved placenta or in layman terms he’s still head up with his face happily against it (he’s been posed there for every freaking ultrasound we’ve had) when most babies have started meandering head down. I was told by the tech that he’s basically got two weeks to get his act in gear since I’m 30 weeks right now and most babies don’t move their position after they’re 32 weeks. To top it off Dr. Hunt told me that because of two factors, his small size and my apparently unusually shaped placenta (its like two kidneys which only one is connected directly to me and the other one connected to the first part via something instead of a whole piece like normal), she cannot at all risk turning him if he is breach. For that procedure only I’d be considered high risk because of his size and the possibility of damaging my placenta in the process, which yes…would be a very bad thing to do since it’s kind of his life line. Anyways that’s why we’re getting another ultrasound in three weeks no doubt, to check his progress position wise as well as size wise. I might add this boy should feel like a freaking movie star already. Keira had like two more then normal ultrasounds but he’s probably at like six or seven so far when most moms get like one a trimester. Oh and that’s just the extra stuff to do I still have to come in every two weeks and then after 36 weeks every week like normal. Which is why I freaking feel like I should just live up there.

Holiday Plans
Since it’s probably not expected to most of the family here’s are our holiday plans.
Thanksgiving: Normally we don’t come out lately for Thanksgiving……probably will this year. (We’ll see how we feel.) After all it’s a long drive for a day thing when you have a one year old so that’s why we normally rather not. Who knows our our laziness may win this year too.
Possible affecting factor: I have to get an ultrasound soon (Nov. 4) just for them to check something on me and not the baby so since that sounds a bit weird to me who knows I may be unexpected banned from stuff like travel for some reason. (Something about checking my veins with it again because they were larger then expected and being worried about my blood pressure going up when its naturally low.) Why exactly for sure that bothers them I don’t know. My What to Expect When Your Expecting book though says that higher blood pressure is fine by itself to occur but can be an issue if there are some other signs involved. Together those signs would be indicators for preeclampsia or better known perhaps to some as toxemia. Which for those who don’t know what either is it’s basically the poisoning of my blood and of course would be bad and could lead to bed rest or a lovely long stay at the hospital so that they can make sure I don’t deliver early. (Severe cases do so automatically but those are never people who had prenatal and have gone past preeclampsia and into something worse call eclampsia.) Anyways, I knew someone who was in hospital 2 months before their child was born because of preeclampsia. SUCKY. But like I said there would need to be more signs so that may be why they’re nervous about my veins and want to ultrasound me for it again. That said only like 8% of all pregnant women get it, which the nurses on both sides of the families will tell you so don’t freak out that I will actually have it.
Christmas, we always do the drive and multiple house thing…..this year…..you know where we live. Yep… that’s right you heard me right, I said you know where we live. It’s home this year for us not San Diego, San Marcos or Irvine.
Why you ask? Well since I’m pregnant there’s a no travel time put on us pregos and yep… Mine’s right at Christmas so if you want to see us for Christmas well…. You know where we live. (That does not mean we’re housing everyone by the way. We’ve got 1 guest room 1! …And I guess maybe the babies room if we had too but we’re not a hotel.) I say this because we suggested it one year for Xmas and Grandpa Craft teased we’d better be able to hold everyone then room wise.
And of course our house is where to send our gifts too just so you know. =) (Keira wants that mentioned since it’s very important to her.) That said it’s kind of nice to stay home for once… after all I can see and use my Christmas tree! Whoo hoo! Normally it gets little love and is rather a burden then a cool thing but I won’t let Mike not get one because that would be well… just sacrilege to someone who grew up on Christmas Card Lane. (That’s three streets who do the big signs for everyone to drive by if you don’t know the areas Christmas events)
So anyways that’s our Holiday plans this year. Figured everyone should be told before we’re just not there or just suddenly there. =) Or its way to late for make other plans for seeing us when it wasn’t expected…i.e. Christmas.
Blocks
We’ve been debating getting Keira some blocks but didn’t like how expensive they were for not knowing if she’d even like them or not. I went to the Kid to Kid store (second hand) and found some cheap randomly though and got her some and yes… she likes them. But she’s more interested if you help her build something. Or if she’s destroying what you built.
videos from playing at the mall
We’ve been taking Keira to the mall and letting her play in the play area in front of Barnes and Noble. Here’s some video from it.
Botanical Garden’s Pumpkin Patch
Took Keira to the Botanical Garden’s Pumpkin patch which was free for us since we’re members plus we got a free pumpkin. She liked all the ‘ball’s i.e. pumpkins.
